Once movie starts, it displays the grand era or greatest Chinese Movie especially in Kung Fu during 60s - 80s. The Kung Fu itself has made a remarkable step into the western world.
I would touch the following 5 characters:
1. Jason (Michael Angarano) : A fan of Kung fu movies.
2. Jackie Chan plays two roles :
Hop, the shops elderly owner and Lu Yan (during ancient China)
3. Jet Li plays two roles : Monkey King (Sun Wukong) and silent Monk (during ancient China)
4. Golden Sparrow (Liu Yi Fei), her family was murdered by the Jade Warlord, and she has sworn revenge against him.
5. White-haired witch Ni Chang (Li BingBing), the Jade Warlord promised the elixir of immortality to Ni Chang if she brought back the staff.
From the movie, it shows that Jackie Chan is playing two roles, and so with Jet Li, from ancient until now.
It means that it has been a while that Jackie Chan and Jet Li involved in the movie industries and has made their step into the Hollywood. They are seniors. So where is the junior that would like to become the next Jackie Chan or the next Jet Li? This movies also express the following issue:
a) No matter what you do, even though you could be day-dreaming, you must do something seriously, make an effort, learn something seriously, listen carefully, as you also have guidance, you could be successful as Jet Li or Jackie Chan.
b) We do need someone to bring back the
glorious moment of Kung Fu Movie in the world.
The western world has already impact to the eastern world, such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the ring, and etc... Remember Chinese Movie always need actors from Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, and other Asia actors. So that the Movie shown should attract fans from Asia countries, since the actors are from various countries.
c) How urgent of the Kung Fu industry to bring glorious back.
Lu Yan and Silent Monk teach Jason kung fu at the sametime.
d) Searching for the ONE. The Young Talent. Still searching.
Golden Sparrow (Liu Yi Fei) - The life is short, some people live for someone. in this case is revenge. White-haired witch Ni Chang (Li BingBing) - The life is short, some people live for something
important.
In Today's World.
The Great skill from Seniors (old one) need to be pass to Juniors (young one), whether you like it or not. The Senior needs to pass. The Junior need to accept or else the skill is lost in the market, and back to zero. When the time is limited (maybe got heart attack, sickness), the matter become urgent, normally end up as lost. All the work that seniors has done become lost, and only remember as How Great in Those Day. How sad.
So being Young, has great responsibility to make a difference from impossible into possible.
